A new website has been launched to help make it a little easier for businesses to create and manage Australian Workplace agreements.
Peopleinsite ( http://www.peopleinsite.com.au ) aims to be an easily accessible tool that helps businesses of any size reduce the administration and compliance costs when creating AWA's.
The team behind the site claim it’s the only system in Australia that can create, store, lodge and report on compliant workplace agreements. "We predict that with the capability offered by the tool and the increasing demand from business for more flexible and tailored employment arrangements and reporting systems, we will revolutionise people management in Australia over the next few years," says Richard Breden, managing director for PeopleInsite. "Our software also includes family-friendly and work-life balance terms and conditions, allowing employers to easily build such provisions into AWAs to ensure they are catering to the needs of staff."
The site, which has the backing of workplace relations legal experts Fisher Cartwright Berriman, guides businesses through the relevant terms and conditions needed in an AWA, including the following five minimum conditions that must be contained in an AWA:
• A federal minimum wage or minimum award classification rates of pay, and casual loadings set by the Australian Fair Pay Commission
• Four weeks paid annual leave (five weeks for continuous shift employees), up to two weeks of which can be cashed out in a workplace agreement
• 10 days paid personal/carers leave per year and two days compassionate leave per occasion
• Up to 52 weeks unpaid parental leave (maternity, paternity and adoption)
Maximum ordinary hours of work limited to 38 hours per week (which can be averaged over 12 months) and reasonable additional hours.
