The Christmas party for Soloists and micro business owners

Fletcher Tax Accountants Owner Janna Fikh, and Owner of The Golden Goose Design Studio Leah Klugt, have joined together to create the Jolly Solo, an end of year Christmas Party designed specifically to give solo business operators and those with a very small team the opportunity to celebrate their year in style.

The Jolly Solo will be held on Friday, 2 December in the Grand Hall of Mosman Art Gallery in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

“Being a solo business operator is generally a fulfilling way to spend my day-to-day working life. I manage to connect with other business owners online and in person through networking events and client meetings. But, as this is my first year in my own practice I realised that what I’m going to miss out on is a Christmas Party,” Janna said.

“As I look after a lot of micro/small businesses in my professional capacity – I knew there would be more people in the same boat as me.”

The Jolly Solo event is designed to provide solo business owners and those with small teams with the opportunity to go to a great venue enjoy a sumptuous dinner and have the benefit of the wisdom of great speakers, as well as having the chance to network in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

The event came about through a chance conversation over Twitter between organisers Janna and Leah.

“Leah and I had the same idea separately. But we were missing each other’s respective strengths and through our conversation we realised that we could make this work together,” Fikh said.

By combining their specialities the two small business owners were able to create an event that would provide micro and small business owners with the same sort of end of year celebration that many of them would have experienced in their prior days in corporate Australia.

“Janna took on the entertainment and budget aspects. And I set out to target the marketing and branding for the event,” Klugt said.

“Our aims for the event are twofold. Firstly it is to celebrate the year that has been in our respective businesses, and secondly to cement or increase our connections with other business owners for both support and business networking.

The night will kick off with some general networking and mingling over a drink or two with canapé’s, followed by a sumptuous dinner with dessert and fantastic entertainment.

“I hope that people will leave the event rejuvenated, inspired and having made or cemented some great connections with people in a similar set-up as themselves, and be ready to take on the New Year with vigour,” Fikh added.
