Telstra has updated the value of its pre-paid wireless broadband data allowances on Telstra Next G to bring them closer to the price points offered by competitors – Vodafone and Optus.
To further satisfy the nation’s growing appetite for wireless connectivity, some of the new allowances offer customers up to three times more data at no additional cost, along with longer recharge expiry periods and a bonus 1GB of data to welcome new users, offering customers competitive value with Telstra’s mobile data network.
30 Day recharge cards start at $20 for 225MB up to $100 for 6GB, this is approximately equal in price to what competitors are offering. However in the $100/6GB range competitors Virgin is offering 90 days to use its pre-paid data cards, with Dodo and Vodafone offering 180 days to use the same recharge.
Telstra’s 90 Day recharge card comes in at $130 for 3GB and 180 Day card is $150 for 4GB. This is still considered poor value compared to Three’s 365 day recharge card at $149 that offers 12GB of data.
