Samsung will be releasing a Galaxy smartphone with a 3-sided screen next month, according to a new report by Bloomberg.
The report reveals Samsung Electronics Co. will be unveiling two versions with all-metal bodies and 5.1-inch screens, one of which will have a display covering three sides. While nothing has been confirmed, both phones are said to be variations on Samsung’s Galaxy S6.
Mashable has suggested the 3-sided screen may look like the Galaxy Note Edge (video below), which features a curved display on the device’s right hand side.
Although Samsung has yet to confirm the news, word on the 3-sided screen furthers the whispers brought up in January. An early report suggested Samsung would be bringing out a smartphone with “two-edge displays, one on each side.”
The buzz surrounding Samsung’s new devices highlights the company’s move to take on Apple’s hugely successful year.
Samsung is expected to unveil their new devices at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in March.
