HTC says it’s aware of an technical issue impacting users who transfer data from BlackBerry devices to HTC smartphones, and is assuring customers a software upgrade is being developed to fix the bug.
The glitch occurs when copying data from a BlackBerry to a HTC device only, and sees all SMS messages from the BlackBerry to be re-sent again to the original recipient of the text message.
HTC says the messages are not sent to anyone who didn’t originally receive them.
The company has flagged this issue as urgent, and is working to resolve it as soon as possible by developing, testing and introducing a software update.
HTC said it will update customers on a regular basis of its progress until it has been resolved.
HTC customers will be notified via their devices that a software update is available and are advised to update their smartphone.
