The Australian Export Awards, announced Friday night, honours the achievements of various enterprises across 13 categories and serves to highlight the importance of international trade, says Minister for Trade Simon Crean.
“Tonight’s category winners, finalists, and Hall of Fame inductees show how Australian innovation, determination and effort can meet the challenges of global markets and create wealth and job opportunities for Australians,” says Crean.
“Last year these thirteen companies showed they have what it takes to compete on the world stage and win, earning $969 million in export revenues and employing more than 1,400 Australians.”
Sydney-based ICT company Appen took out the top honour as Australian Exporter of the Year, while proven winners Cochlear Limited and BridgeClimb Sydney were inducted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame.
