Internet vulnerability has increased by 30 percent in the last year, with a more than 160% increase in new vendors affected according to a report by global digital security company Symantec.

Microsoft has issued 12 security bulletins which address 22 vulnerabilities in its Windows products. Five of these vulnerabilities have been rated critical by Microsoft and businesses are advised to update their software accordingly.

On this day 10 years ago, the LoveBug virus, a mass-mailing worm infected 45 million computer users when the virus multiplied overnight from 1 in every 1000 emails to 1 in 28.
