According to the latest Hudson report, intentions to maintain current employee numbers is at its highest level since the Global Financial Crisis (GFC).
Business confidence is up if the latest survey results provided by global recruitment agency Hudson is anything to go by. The Hudson Report: Employment Expectations survey found that almost one-third of Australian businesses have indicated they are ready to take on more staff in the next quarter.
Employment figures are biting back in the lead up to the new year with employment rising to pre GFC levels, with part time employees set to save employers’ bacon in 2011.
The majority of Australian and New Zealand employers feel they were forced to make too many redundancies during the GFC which they now regret, according to research from Hudson.
The financial services industry has well and truly shrugged off the global financial crisis, with employer confidence at its highest level in close to a decade.
Australian employer confidence has increased to its highest levels since July 2008, with employer hiring intentions for the next quarter up 3.4 percent.
Half of employers expect they will increase the number of full time staff in the June quarter, but only if you live in Western Australia.
