The ABC has taken top spot on a list of Australia’s most attractive employers, going one better than its second place finish last year.

Gold prospecting company Newcrest Mining has been named Australia’s most attractive employer for 2012, pipping the ABC and Virgin Australia to take out the top spot.

Australians are some of the most optimistic people in the world when it comes to finding a new job, with only Chinese and Indian workers registering higher confidence.

Employers are facing another tough year, with the majority identifying the battle to attract staff as the biggest human capital challenge.
