Appliances Online scoops Online Retailer Industry Awards

Appliances Online won a swag of awards last night at the inaugural Online Retailer Industry Awards (ORIAs) including the the highly coveted Best Pure Play Online Retailer award.

Appliances OnlineThe winners of the event that recognises excellence in e-commerce retailing were announced last night at a gala dinner held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre Parkside Ballroom alongside the Online Retail Conference and Exhibition.

Appliances Online was also judged as the Best Customer Experience in Australasia at the awards. John Winning, founder and CEO of Appliances Online, was also nominated for the most prestigious individual accolade, the Industry Recognition Award, for his services and contribution to the online retail industry in Australia.

John Winning, founder and CEO of Appliances Online, said: “The team at Appliances Online are understandably thrilled to be recognised as a leading online retailing business in a fiercely competitive industry, as judged by industry heavyweights.

“Appliances Online began five years ago with a rented truck and a 1800 number diverted to a mobile phone. We had the hard task of turning a traditional in-store shopping experience – buying a fridge – into a simple and trusted online transaction. Our business caters for the growing number of time-poor consumers who appreciate the efficiency of researching products and ultimately shopping online.

“Customer service remains the most important part of our business.  We spend the majority of our time listening to what our customers need and the rest of the time giving it to them.  This award demonstrates our commitment to replicating the same level of, if not better, customer service you would experience in a store, in an online environment.

“As the digital economy expands, truly innovative companies in the online retail space will become an even more significant part of Australia’s economic future. Appliances Online currently stocks more brands than any other online whitegoods or appliance retailer at competitive prices. We also look forward to adding more categories to our repertoire of products and committing to next-day delivery across metropolitan Australia in the coming year,” Mr Winning said.
