Kirsty Trask joins Kablamo Leadership Team as Regional Manager Melbourne

Kablamo, one of Australia’s fastest growing cloud software and product development specialists, has announced the appointment of Kirsty Trask as Regional Manager Melbourne.
Trask joins Kablamo’s national leadership team from Australian SaaS company, Dubber, where she served as Senior Product Manager. Previously, she held the role of IT and Digital Projects Manager at CrownBet.

In her role as Regional Manager Melbourne, Trask will oversee Kablamo’s growth in Victoria and she will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences in the region.

Angus Dorney, Kablamo co-CEO, said Trask’s experience in managing high-performance teams and track record delivering innovative software-centric solutions made her the perfect fit. Along with software and product development, one of Trask’s key responsibilities will be coaching teams within client organisations to adopt and embrace an Agile culture and methodologies.
“I didn’t want to hire someone with just ‘go-to-market’ experience, that’s a dime-a-dozen,” he said. “I wanted someone who was more strategic, had experience with software and product strategy, someone who can lead the customer journey from a blank sheet of paper all the way through to taking a new product to market,” Dorney said.
Trask said the people, culture, and client base attracted her to Kablamo, and she looked forward to championing the push to bring more women into IT as part of her leadership role.

“Having read about Kablamo and the diverse projects they’ve been involved with, it was clear to me they were very smart people working to solve very real business problems. Kablamo’s founder, Allan, has also been driving thought leadership around Artificial Intelligence and blockchain, and it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

As a member of the Australian Computer Society’s Women in Victoria Group, and most recently as part of Females in Information Technology and Telecommunications (FITT), Trask has worked to encourage more women to pursue careers in technology.
“I’m passionate about getting more women into the industry and being given a leadership role means I can help develop careers and really push the needle. Importantly, it’s a mission Kablamo strongly believes in, so I know I’ll be supported to make a positive impact,” Trask said.
Allan Waddell, Kablamo founder and co-CEO, built Kablamo around teams of “cloud native execution engineers”, highly-trained cloud specialists who deliver high quality projects at high speed and with best-in-class governance and security.
Waddell said Trask’s product development experience and cultural fit perfectly matched the leader he envisaged would oversee the Melbourne business.

“We wanted someone who not only had the skills, but also the belief in Agile and innovation. Adapting modern technologies and aligning them to the business needs of clients, while bringing them along on the journey, is second nature to Kirsty,” he said.

“That’s what makes Kirsty such a great fit – she can tailor cloud technology and cultural change to deliver our customers’ products to market in quick time and at a very high quality.”
