Aussie businesses – I Love Your Work!

I had the fabulous honour of presenting the MYOB Small Business Award at the Telstra Business Awards in Queensland last week.  To try and describe the atmosphere and excitement in the room would take up too much of this post.  So I will sum it up to say it was truly inspiring to say the least!

I may sound like a gushing cliché – and if I do, so be it!

To see business owners recognising and congratulating each other, celebrating with their teams and celebrating their achievements, really was fantastic.  And to see the diversity of businesses involved in the awards showed that it’s a great representation of the Australian business community.

It’s not only the recognition, or pat on the back (that business owners rarely give themselves), that programs like the Telstra Business Awards deliver, it’s the opportunities for finalists to enhance networks, business relationships, marketing, team and client engagement and business planning.

What struck me most was the privilege of celebrating with people who had a vision and passion to start a business and who were actually bold and gutsy enough to go out on a limb and do it ― inspirational stuff!

So to business owners everywhere, I applaud your efforts … you’re doing a fabulous job! Love Your Work!

If you’re keen to find out who the national winners are in the 2010 Telstra Business Awards – think about attending the gala dinner on 20 August – I’ll be there (with bells on!!)

What do you think?
