Victorian first home buyers have been given a boost by the state government, eligible for up to $36,500 in combined state and federal government grants.
The Victorian Government has extended the first home buyers grant for another year, with Victorian Treasurer John Lenders saying the scheme will help stave off the impact of the global recession by stimulating investment and jobs.
This comes as home sales in the state jumped up in June, with a record 5834 homes sold, according to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria.
