Vibe Hotels in an Australian first, is asking Foursquare users to ‘check in’ to its Curve Cafes and Bars at Vibe Hotels.
Foursquare is a new smart phone application that asks users to ‘check in’ their locations to let friends know where they are and what they like about a particular location or business. Once a user visits a certain location enough times they become the ‘mayor’ of that location.
Vibe Hotels hopes to encourage more Foursquare users to their locations, offering food and drinks to everyone who ‘checks in’. Every second time Foursquare users ‘check-in’ to Curve Cafés and Bars at Vibe Hotels, they’ll receive a buy one drink get one free bonus voucher, redeemable at all Curve Bars and Cafes across Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Darwin. On top of that the ‘mayor’ will receive a buy one get one free meal.
Vibe Hotels is trying to capitalise on the increasing popularity of social media in Australia, according to the Director of Marketing at Toga Hospitality Lisa Phillips.
“Foursquare is already huge in the States and is just about to take Australia by storm. We know that lots of our guests love the Foursquare concept and we wanted to do something to make it even more rewarding for them.”
“Foursquare is a great way for even more people to interact with the brand.” Ms Phillips says.
