This Saturday best for jobhunting

With the best day for job hunting just three days away, candidates have been urged not to hesitate if they’re in the market for a new role.

According to national recruitment firm IPA, employers should also take advantage of the large, quality pool of candidates in the marketplace on what is anticipated to be the job market’s busiest day of the year.

“The last Saturday in January is traditionally the culmination of a hive of opportunity for job seekers or those looking to change roles,” said Rabieh Krayem, CEO of IPA Recruitment. “It’s a bumper day for job adverts in the papers and online. We call it Fresh Start Saturday because it’s when more people look to start afresh than any other day of the year.”

According to Krayem, Fresh Start Saturday is when the needs of employers and candidates are perfectly aligned. “It’s the height of the ‘mating season’,” he said.  “The pool of candidates builds through January until it peaks in late month.”
