New BlackBerry’s to arrive in September

Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled its latest BlackBerry smartphones – the BlackBerry Torch 9860 and Bold 9900 – with Optus to be the first mobile carrier to sell the new arrivals in Australia.

According to RIM, the Torch 9860 and Bold 9900 signal an evolution in the BlackBerry line-up. They maintain the hallmark professional-grade security and communications abilities associated with BlackBerry, but also offer a balance of work and play thanks to their combination of practical apps and entertainment features.

Both smartphones are built on the BlackBerry 7 Operating System, feature a Liquid Graphics interface and run on a 1.2 GHz processor.

The Torch 9860 all-touch features one-click synchronisation with Mac and PC as well as a number of social networking apps such as BlackBerry Messenger and integrated Facebook chat

The Bold 9900 features a sleek and slim design whilst retaining the signature BlackBerry keyboard. Built with a high-resolution touch screen, it’s ideal for typing emails and browsing the net.

Both smartphones will go on sale through Optus retail, online and other sales channels from early September.
