High petrol prices are changing business processes

While news of potential reductions to petrol prices is being welcomed by all, businesses are still changing the way they do business to subsidise increased costs. Findings from 3 Mobile research show petrol prices are impacting 93 percent of businesses.

To solve the problem at hand, SMEs are turning to alternative approaches to doing business, including an increase in the purchase of communication tools for flexible working. Seventy percent of businesses plan to increase their usage of telecommunications technologies in the coming year.

“As small businesses face the ongoing challenges of cash flow management, resource planning and relationship building; rising fuel costs, interest rates and business taxes are putting further pressure on them,” says Michael Cheshire, general manager of 3’s business sales.

“Small businesses are looking for new ways to conduct business more efficiently and we’re finding that they are taking advantage of the mobile technologies previously reserved for big businesses.”
