Cauldron secures $10 million to scale precision fermentation tech
Cauldron, an Australian startup specializing in precision fermentation technology and led by expert Michele Stansfield, has raised AUD$ 10.5 million in an oversubscribed funding round led by Main Sequence and Horizons Ventures.
The funding is one of the largest seed rounds in a female-founded startup in Australia and will be used to scale Cauldron’s network of precision fermentation facilities, which is the largest in the APAC region.
Aussie electric car-sharing platform gets crowdfunded
Evee, Australia’s leading electric car-sharing platform, has successfully raised $727,291 from 261 investors in a Birchal equity crowdfunding raise.
The funding was raised in just 24 hours and surpassed the minimum target of $300,000 within 124 minutes of the private round opening. The average investment of $2,788 is significantly higher than the average for a Birchal campaign.
Fintech Lumiant banks $5.26 million in Seed round
Lumiant, a financial advice fintech, has raised $5 million in a second self-described “Seed” round from two growing independent advisory firms, Invest Blue in Australia and Savant Wealth Management in the US.
The cloud-based advice platform aims to improve financial advisers’ and clients’ advice outcomes and will use the funding to drive growth and accelerate US expansion, as well as develop a Lumiant mobile application.
Atmo Biosciences closes fully subscribed $8 million Series B funding round
Atmo Biosciences, a company commercializing the world’s first ingestible gas-sensing capsule for gut health and microbiome function insights, has raised A$8 million in a fully subscribed Series B funding round. The funding was led by Otsuka Pharmaceutical, an existing strategic shareholder, and was supported by other existing and new investors in Australia and the US.
Torch Capital raises over $200 million in funding
Torch Capital, a NYC-based early-stage venture capital firm, closed over $200M in a new fundraise for its Fund II. The firm operates at the intersection of consumer and technology, investing in mission-driven companies that are improving accessibility, transparency, and convenience for the end consumer. Torch surpassed $400M in AUM to support founders from seed through early growth.
Trobix Bio raises $3 million in equity funding
Trobix Bio, a Netanya, Israel-based biotechnology company developing microbiome oncology therapeutics, raised $3M in Equity funding. The round was led by Chartered Group.
The company intends to use the funds for the development of its products and proprietary platform technology. TBX201 is an orally available capsule designed to alter the gut microbiome to reduce the incidence and severity of severe diarrhea caused by irinotecan.
