The search for Australia’s leading entrepreneur is on again with nominations for the 10th anniversary Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year now open.
Since 2001, nearly 900 businessmen and women across Australia have been recognised through the award, with 51 national category winners, and nine Australian Entrepreneur Of The Year winners flying the flag for Australia at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards.
Jon Dobell, Director of Australia Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, says the award alumni are an impressive list of visionary and passionate entrepreneurs.
“In the past decade, these awards have recognised the people behind fast-growth, innovative businesses such as BridgeClimb, Fone Zone, Virgin Blue, Coopers Brewery, Boost Juice, SEEK, Domino’s Pizza, Internode, Wotif.com, Nufarm, Webjet and Storage King – the list goes on,” says Dobell.
“Entrepreneurs are particularly important in difficult economic times in helping drive economic recovery,” says Dobell.
“Last year alone the national finalists in the award employed more than 9000 people and generated combined annual revenue of $3 billion.”
Nominations for the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards are now open and close on 26 March.
