The IMB Community Foundation has opened its 2014 round of funding for not-for-profit organisations and community groups.
Submissions from interested groups have until late January to apply for a share of the $500,000 of grant money available.
IMB Community Foundation Chairman, Lynton Nicholas urged all community organisations, no matter how big or small, to apply for funding.
“In 2013, the IMB Community Foundation pledged more than $500,000 to 52 local community projects in need of support. For our 2014 round of funding, we once again welcome and encourage applications for projects from a broad cross-section of local organisations and not-for-profit groups,” Nicholas said.
The IMB Community Foundation was established in 1999, and provides financial assistance to not-for-profit community groups selected on the merit of their contribution to the local area in which IMB members live.
Since 2000, the foundation has supported nearly 400 community projects throughout the Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Highlands, ACT and Sydney areas to the value of more than $6.6 million.
“The main goal of the Community Foundation is to assist local groups with sustainable projects that benefit the community. For more than 13 years now, we have been amazed by the quality of funding submissions and each year we take pride in how previously funded projects have evolved and continue to benefit their respective regions/communities,” IMB CEO, Robert Ryan said.
The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute’s ‘Health Check Booth’ is one such sustainable project that continues to benefit various local communities in the areas in which IMB operates.
