Businesses, schools and communities across the country are being encouraged to participate in ‘Loud Shirt Day’ on May 15, an initiative designed to raise money and awareness for deaf children across Australia.
Loud Shirt Day is an initiative of “deaf kids talking” an alliance of five organisations throughout Australia whose aim is to support deaf and hearing impaired children so they can learn to hear, listen and speak.
On Loud Shirt Day businesses, schools and individuals are encouraged to throw away the work wear and get “loud” by dressing in crazy t-shirts, socks, scarves and any other LOUD fashion statement. All participants are required to make a donation which will go towards “deaf kids talking.”
