2023 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award applications are now open

Female leaders who are making an impact, innovating, and improving rural and regional Australia are encouraged to apply for the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award and Acceleration Grant in 2023.

Each winner receives a $15,000 reward from Platinum Sponsor Westpac and access to national alumni networks and professional development opportunities.

Applications for the 2023 prizes must be submitted by Wednesday, October 19, 10 p.m. AEST. Nearly 300 extraordinary women have created creative projects as part of the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award that fosters a thriving rural Australia’s future.

The projects of the 2022 National Finalists range from aid for rural and remote families to a publication for female entrepreneurs, as well as initiatives to enhance farmers’ physical and mental health, give voice to people with disabilities in agriculture, and lessen food insecurity in indigenous communities.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award criteria have been changed and tightened, and now applicants must have an active initiative, venture, or programme that comes under the Community, Collaboration, or Commercial umbrella.

AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant is a programme launched in 2021 to encourage women participating in Australia’s rural and growing industries, enterprises, and communities to grow and thrive. It is independent of the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award, but it complements it by providing a leadership and development opportunity to women who are not yet ready to apply for the Award.

Seven Australian women will receive a $7,000 learning and development stipend every year to help them realise their idea, cause, or vision.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant promotes innovation and problem resolution by seeking women who have an idea, cause, or vision that affects rural or growing industries, enterprises, or communities.

The concept must have a community, cooperation, or commercial focus and must adhere to Grant’s ideals. Applications for the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award and Acceleration Grant are now open and will conclude on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
