RentBetter secures $1.9m
RentBetter, a proptech startup, has closed a $1.9 million Series A capital raising round, bringing the proptech’s total capital raised to $3.2 million.
The platform provides everyday landlords with the same tools and services that real estate professionals use to lease and manage residential properties but at a fraction of the cost.
RentBetter intends to capture 5 per cent of Australia’s $6 billion property leasing and management market, capitalising on the growing trend toward DIY property management.
Her Black Book raises $1.6m
Sali Sasi and Julie Stevanja, founders of Her Black Book, raised $1.6 million in an oversubscribed round three months after launching their premium Shopping & Discovery App, revitalising the retail space with an array of high-end, high-street, and accessible brand partners while providing value and convenience to time-poor shoppers.
The equity round was led by businessman and investor Andrew Hagger, and it included investment from Afterpay-backed Touch Ventures as well as notable individuals in the tech and fintech industries. The round represents a 50% increase in valuation from the company’s pre-launch capital raise.
AirTree leads $6.8m seed round
Calven has raised $6.8 million in a seed round led by AirTree and supported by a number of strategic investors. This includes, among others, Michael Gonski, a partner in Herbert Smith Freehills’ employment law practice, and the Gonski family office.
Calven is best described as a workplace experience platform with a wide range of features and capabilities that enable organisations to easily design, implement, manage, and measure the future of work policies and processes, resulting in an optimal employee and office experience.
Edtech startup FourthRev secures $11.2m in funding
FourthRev, an edtech startup, has raised $11.2 million in funding as businesses undergo rapid transformation. Following more than a dozen university collaborations in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, FourthRev last year pioneered a new category of education known as the Career Accelerator.
FourthRev claims that it is on track to achieve 225 per cent revenue growth this fiscal year and has expanded its team by 50 people globally.
Australian fintech Zeller hits unicorn status
After closing a $100 million funding round at a valuation of more than $1 billion, Zeller is doubling down on the development of its fully integrated financial operating system for business owners.
The Series B, which more than doubled Zeller’s valuation, was led by the US-based Headline, with additional funds contributed by the Australian industry superannuation fundHostplus. Square Peg, Addition, and Spark Capital, among others, returned to participate in the round.
To meet the needs of its rapidly growing customer base, Zeller will invest funds in the launch of a variety of revolutionary new payments and business banking capabilities. Zeller offers a fully integrated payments and financial services solution to Australian business owners.
