Woolworths sales for the September quarter are 4.1 percent higher on the corresponding quarter last year, with gross sales of $13.9 billion during the reporting period.

Woolworths Limited has topped expectations, growing sales by 4.2 percent on last year, or 4.8 percent excluding Woolworth’s volatile petrol division.

Woolworths exceeded market expectations today with a reported 11.4 percent rise in first-half net profit for this financial year.
