Mobil petrol stations in Australia are in the process of being rebranded into 7-Eleven stores after the sale of more than 250 Mobil service stations to 7-Eleven’s Australian owners was approved by the ACCC eight weeks ago.
7-Eleven Stores Pty Ltd is now the third largest private company in Australia, after it announced that it has completed the acquisition of Mobil Oil Australia Pty Ltd’s retail fuels business, after signing a deal to buy Mobil’s retail arm in May.
Mobil stores are free to be rebranded as 7-Eleven outlets after the ACCC gave the acquisition of Mobil by 7-Eleven approval to proceed, concluding it would not impact competition negatively.
