Optus celebrates iPhone 4S launch with reduced repayments

The iPhone 4S officially launched in Australia this morning, with Optus celebrating by detailing reduced handset repayments on its $59 cap.

Optus is now selling the iPhone 4S in both black and white, offering the 16GB for free on the $59 cap, the 32GB model for $6 per month and the 64GB model for $11 per month.

Optus said customers who have pre-ordered the iPhone 4S will also have access to these plans.

Customers have access to $750 worth of monthly included value on the $59 cap, as well as 2GB worth of data usage.

Dynamic Business publisher and editor Jen Bishop was at the Optus launch of the iPhone 4S this morning, reporting that tens of thousands of pre-orders meant there was none of the midnight queuing madness usually associated with Apple launches.

Bishop said the queues outside various telco stores in Sydney city were manageable, as customers were given the option of having their iPhone 4S’ delivered or to pick them up from a nominated store.
