The New South Wales Small Business Commissioner Yasmin King has announced an exciting new resource for the creative industries.
The appointment of a new specialised Small Biz Connect advisor aims to connect people wishing to turn to their creative passion into a sustainable career.
NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner and Minister for Small Business Katrina Hodgkinson announced Monica Davidson, a creative industries expert, will be taking the reigns of the first Creative Industries Business Advisor.
“NSW is home to the nation’s biggest, most diverse, globally connected and sophisticated creative sector, and the Government is committed to supporting people to make the most of their creativity,” Stoner said.
The appointment comes as a result of recommendations put forward by the Creative Industries Taskforce, which found tailored advisory services would be necessary to develop business capabilities in the creative industries.
“By creating a Small Biz Connect advisor specifically for the creative industries, we are providing this vital small business sector with access to the specialised knowledge and advice that meets their distinct needs,” Hodginson said.
