Calling women in business! CBA Women in Focus competition kicks off

Local women are being invited to enter the Commonwealth Bank Women in Focus Community Builders competition series, and share their stories to go in the running to win a trip to Mt Kilimanjaro or New York Fashion Week.

The first competition gives entrants the chance to win $5,000 to host their own International Women’s Day event in March, and the second will provide one volunteer with the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children in a remote Northern Territory community. The prize is part of the Indi-Kindi program, which aims to improve literacy and numeracy among 0-5 year old children in remote bush communities.

The Global Blogger Search is the last competition, and gives two winners the opportunity to experience 2012 New York Fashion Week or volunteer in Tanzania and explore Mt Kilimanjaro.

To win any of these prizes, entrants just need to share the story of a day in their shoes via the Women in Focus personal blogs.

The prizes are worth in excess of $30,000 and all competition winners will talk about their experiences with the Women in Focus community.

Women in Focus and Community Business Finance director Katie Mihell said the competitions are a great way to women around the country to share their personal and business experiences.

“We’re really excited about these competitions as they represent our desire to encourage women to share their stories, celebrate achievement and to reach out and help others,” she said.

The Community Builders competitions are now open at the Women in Focus website and entries close on:

• February 5 – International Women’s Day event competition

• March 5 – Volunteering in an Aboriginal Community competition

• March 30 – Global Blogger Search

The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18.
