Consumers encouraged to ‘spend green’ with stimulus payments

The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is urging consumers to think wisely about how they spend their $900 stimulus payments, encouraging all Australians to put it towards a greener economy.

In an effort to stave off unchecked consumption, the ACF is encouraging consumers to think about using their money to tackle the ever looming problem of climate change.

They have provided the following suggestions to consumers on how to best spend their money. These include:

  • Installing a water tank
  • Signing up to the Government’s GreenPower program
  • Installing insulation or a solar hot water system with the assistance of the Government’s Energy Efficient Homes Package.
