Tiger Airways has added a new low-fare route between Melbourne and Sydney, a move welcomed by Syndey Chamber of Commerce.
“This announcement is great news for the tourism sector and for the aviation industry,” said Patricia Forsythe, executive director of the Sydney Chamber of Commerce.
The new flights between Sydney and Melbourne will commence from 3 July 2009 with up to four flights daily.
Ms Forsyrhe said that the route between Sydney to Melbourne is one of the busiest, and will only seek to boost popularity in the low fare market, creating much needed competition.
