New partnership promises to end doc management chaos for Australian SMEs

Konica Minolta Australia has announced a strategic partnership with Box, a global leader in Intelligent Content Management, aimed at helping Australian organisations better manage unstructured data, streamline workflows, and meet growing compliance demands—all while laying the groundwork for AI-powered business operations.

The partnership brings together Box’s cloud-based content platform and Konica Minolta’s Intelligent Information Management (IIM) services to create an end-to-end offering designed to turn disorganised content into actionable intelligence. The joint solution targets key pressure points for enterprises, including data silos, inefficient manual processes, and the growing complexity of regulatory compliance. John Harding, General Manager of Managed Services at Konica Minolta Australia, said: “We’re at a defining moment where content is no longer just stored; it’s a strategic asset. Every document, every workflow, and every piece of unstructured data holds the potential to drive insight, automation, and innovation.”

The offering is built on five core deliverables:

  • Smarter data access through secure, integrated content platforms
  • Faster workflows via automation and AI
  • Stronger compliance capabilities to support regulatory obligations
  • Scalable solutions adaptable to evolving business needs
  • Embedded AI for content classification, insight extraction, and process acceleration

Gavin Diamond, Vice President for Australia and New Zealand at Box, said: “Businesses are no longer treating content as passive data; they expect instant intelligence. We’re delivering a single intelligent content platform through our partnership with Konica Minolta that enables customers to embrace this shift.”

Konica Minolta’s IIM portfolio includes document scanning and capture services, Intelligent Document Processing, robotic process automation (RPA), and consulting through its Automation Professional Services team. Box’s platform adds AI-driven metadata tagging, secure cloud collaboration, and native integrations with enterprise apps such as Salesforce and Microsoft 365. The companies say the partnership provides a modern alternative to legacy enterprise content management systems and is designed to support digital transformation across industries including healthcare, finance, legal, and education.

Both firms will take the solution to market throughout 2025, with targeted outreach to enterprise and mid-market customers.
