What’s happening: The Albanese Government has announced 40 national peak bodies across Australian industries will join a new Trade Diversification Network under the $50 million Accessing New Markets Initiative. The network will develop tailored activities including trade missions, training and showcases to help exporters diversify into new markets. Why this matters: With 32 per cent of Australia’s economic output supported by trade and one in four jobs connected to exports, the network aims to reduce dependence on traditional trading partners and build resilience by connecting businesses with emerging opportunities in regions including the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
