In tough times, employers are looking to motivate their employees, and boost staff morale. The latest Newspoll survey has revealed an unlikely source of employee happiness – footy tipping.
According to the survey of over 480 full-time workers, 75 percent believe office tipping improves workplace morale, while 69 percent think office tipping is a good way to meet people and forge bonds, especially when starting a new job.
Heath Kilgour from Australia’s largest free online sports tipping site, footytips.com.au, who commissioned the research said,” Office footy tipping is an integral part of the workplace because it’s all about encouraging personal relationships and inclusion.”
Kilgour believes that footy tipping breaks down workplace barriers and makes everyone equal.
“Footy tipping improves work place morale because it’s a clear sign from management to employees that we’re all equal. Footy tipping is one of the last bastions of egalitarianism in the work place.”
