Business women confident in crisis

New research commissioned by Telstra for the 2009 Telstra Business Women’s Awards has shown that the majority of business women are confident they can survive the economic crisis.

The survey revealed that while 90 percent of women who operate or own their own business are concerned about the state of the economy, 88 percent are confident of leading their business successfully through the recession.

Of these, 75 percent are taking positive action to combat the downturn, which include cost cutting and improving efficiencies (23 percent) and working harder (18 percent).

The survey was released to coincide with the 2009 Telstra Business Women’s Awards and to motivate successful businesswomen to nominate themselves or someone they know for the awards.

Award categories include: Commonwealth Bank Business Owner Award, Hudson Private and Corporate Sector Award, White Pages Community and Government Award, Nokia Business Innovation Award, marie Claire Young Business Women’s Award.

Nominations for the award close 10 July. To nominate or for more information, please visit www.telstrabusinesswomensawards.com
