ANNA Money launches all-in-one finance ‘super app’ for Australian SMEs

Australian businesses are set to benefit from a new financial solution as ANNA Money, an AI-powered SME business account provider, partners with embedded finance innovator Shaype to launch the nation’s first all-in-one business finance “super app.”

The app, now rolling out to startups and proprietary limited (Pty Ltd) companies, aims to transform how SMEs manage their finances by consolidating fragmented workflows into a single, intelligent platform.

Unlike traditional financial systems that require SMEs to juggle banks, accounting software like Xero, spreadsheets, and accountants, ANNA’s super app integrates business banking, tax, expenses, company formation, and corporate cards into one seamless interface. Powered by Shaype’s secure, compliant infrastructure, the app leverages real-time data, machine learning, and automation to act as a “24/7 financial co-pilot” tailored to the complex needs of Pty Ltd businesses, from early-stage startups to established firms scaling up.

ANNA Money Australia’s CEO, Ryan Edwards-Pritchard, emphasized the app’s transformative potential: “Our partnership with Shaype marks a real inflection point for business finance in Australia. Until now, SMEs have been forced to cobble together tools that were never designed to work in sync. With ANNA, we’re changing that by building an intelligent, agentic financial system that actively works for business owners around the clock. Working with a partner like Shaype, whose infrastructure allows us to move fast, stay compliant and innovate at scale, has been critical to unlocking this next generation of SME services.”

The super app offers a suite of features designed to simplify financial management for SMEs:

  • Automated tax tools for IAS/BAS preparation, lodgement, GST tracking, and compliance.
  • Real-time business accounts with Australian BSB/account numbers and NPP-enabled payments.
  • ANNA-branded Mastercard® corporate cards for business owners and teams.
  • Built-in expense management with receipt capture and real-time transaction categorization.
  • Business formation tools to launch new entities in minutes.
  • AI-driven financial insights and automation with human oversight.

Andrew Laycock, CEO of Shaype, highlighted the partnership’s role in redefining financial services: “We’re proud to support ANNA Money’s launch in Australia. This is a great example of how embedded finance infrastructure can unlock entirely new user experiences in financial services. Together, we’re empowering Australian SMEs with modern, secure, and integrated tools that simply didn’t exist before.”

With 98% of Australian businesses classified as SMEs, many struggle with complex financial administration and fragmented tools. ANNA’s entry into the market, following its 2024 acquisition of Cape, positions it to challenge traditional banks by offering a solution that “does your taxes” and streamlines operations. The app’s focus on Pty Ltd companies addresses a gap left by competitors targeting freelancers and sole traders, making it particularly relevant for SMEs with intricate compliance needs.

However, challenges remain. Economic uncertainty could impact SME adoption, as businesses may hesitate to adopt new platforms during unstable conditions. ANNA must also build trust, particularly with accountants who influence 36% of SME financial decisions.

Despite these hurdles, ANNA’s super app represents a significant opportunity for Australia’s SMEs to streamline operations, reduce costs, and stay agile in a competitive market. For more information, contact ANNA Money Australia.
