ACCI encourages workers to take leave

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) are encouraging workers to take leave, believing it could actually help to boost the local economy.

According to the ACCI, 123 million days and $33.3 billion of annual leave in Australian businesses is going unused and workers should be taking their accrued leave.

Many companies are now enforcing annual leave, in an effort to remove liabilities from their balance sheet. The worst offenders seem to be coming from corporate males, with almost three-quarters of this group stockpiling their leave.

The news comes as Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson launches Tourism Australia’s No Leave, No Life campaign to encourage Australians to use their accrued leave and put it towards an Australian holiday to aid the tourism industry. (Read the full story here)
