To help small businesses manage their finances on the fly, Xero has developed a free smartphone application for download from the Apple App Store.
Designed exclusively by Xero’s in-house development and design teams, Xero Touch is one of the new breed of hybrid apps built using Sencha Touch and packaged into an installable app using PhoneGap. It promises to deliver a simple workflow, with minimal effort required to input data into Xero.
Xero Touch allows customers to create, approve and send invoices from their smartphone, saving valuable time for small businesses such as tradespeople and contractors.
It’s capable of taking photographs of receipts, which can then be attached electronically to expense claims, as well as check up-to-date account balances, manage debtors and add notes to the Xero contact record.
“With the world’s best online accounting platform we’re now changing the accounting category, breaking accounting out of the back office with employees being able to do their expense claims on the fly and invoice on the road,” Xero Australia Managing Director Chris Ridd said.
As well as being available from the App Store on Apple iOS devices including the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, this new mobile version of Xero runs via the web at m.xero.com.
The Xero Touch app is available for free download now.
