Most small businesses at this time of the year are preparing for the holiday season and the new year. But, there’s always news in the small business sector. This past week Iconic announced a new CEO, NAB’s full year profit has dropped and Dayna Edwards gave advice on how to attract good employees.
Online fashion retailer The Iconic has nabbed new chief executive Erica Bertchtold from Supercheap Auto and Rebel owner Super Retail Group, which now faces losing two of its senior leaders in quick succession.
Global Fashion Group announced on Monday that Bertchtold will join the Iconic in February 2019 as chief executive, taking over from Patrick Schmidt, who has served in the role since 2013.
NAB’s full-year profit dropped 14.2 per cent to $5.7 billion on restructuring costs and $360 million of customer remediation.
The bank says cash profit dropped from $6.642 billion an year ago largely due to $755 million of restructuring costs and the impact of refunding and compensating customers, partly for fees-for-no-service.
Put simply, your employer brand is your reputation as an employer – good, bad or in between. Organisations with a good employer brand are the ones that consistently attract and retain the best talent, even though they don’t necessarily pay the highest salaries.
Your employer brand is more than just the perks you offer, like a funky office environment, tasty office snacks or a ping pong table. Perks make coming to work easier but they aren’t going to keep people working for you and they aren’t what sets you apart from other employers.
