Australians happy about jobs and employment ambitions

New research shows local employees have lofty career ambitions, with many hoping to get a promotion, work abroad or completely change industries and careers.

According to a LinkedIn survey of more than 900 local professionals, 64 percent are either happy or very happy with their current job.

The survey indicated that out of seven career ambitions, Australians hope to get promoted in their current workplace, work overseas and change to a new career.

Worldwide, Australia ranked 10th overall in having an optimistic outlook on current job.

According to HappeningPeople.com managing director Samuel Day, the results show most of use are happy with our employment and job prospects.

“Australian professionals are resilient, adaptable and a pretty happy bunch.

“In addition, Australian organisations are working harder to keep their employees happy in order to retain them.”

The results also showed that half of professionals in Australia believe there is an opportunity for advancement in their current company if they work hard and show results.

“They are looking within their organisations for growth opportunities and career advancement. As long as they demonstrate results and work hard, they can achieve their goals,” Day added.
