Sony has released the newest member of its IP video conferencing family, the PCS-TL33. The slim and lightweight body with a screen that doubles as a PC monitor can be used on both desktops and small meeting areas. And its electronic pan, tilt and zoom camera, with a wide-angle lens and 3x digital zoom, works to provide better image quality. Audio clarity has also been improved with echo-cancelling dual integrated speakers.
One-click dialling with picture icons is possible for up to 30 contacts, but storing personal contact details on a separate memory stick is an option too. Another option from this $4,000 (August 2008 price) unit is the three window layout, with presentation notes on the left and two videoconferencing images on the right.
