Asia pacific’s SMEs and startups in with a chance to win global tech innovation awards

The Asia Pacific finalists for this year’s Talent Unleashed Awards, which celebrate startups, SMEs and entrepreneurs disrupting their field with innovative technology solutions, have been announced.

The global technology awards program was launched in 2013 by IT recruitment agency, Talent International. This year, the Asia Pacific finalists were selected by a high-profile, international judging panel that included Steve Wozniak, Sir Richard Branson, Jane Tewson (founder and managing director, Igniting Change), Cliff Rosenberg (LinkedIn), Jade Zhang (founder and managing director, Okmno Asia), Dan Radcliffe (International Volunteer HQ), Patrick Grove (Captcha Group), and Yat Siu (Outblaze).

The finalists, across the five Asia Pacific categories are as follows:

Best Start Up – Social Impact

  • Health View Bioanalytic

Best Start-Up – Tech Innovation 

  • BookDoc
  • Clevertar

Best Digital SME – Tech Innovation 

  • Prendi
  • Kayla Itsines: Bikini Body Training Company

Most Disruptive CIO/CTO 

  • William Confalonieri – Deakin University
  • Peter O’Halloran – National Blood Authority
  • Neal Cross – DBS

Best Tech IPO / Venture Capital Raising

  • Bluedot
  • Oneflare
  • ResApp Health

The Asia Pacific winners in each category will be announced in Melbourne on Thursday, 21 July. They will then go on to compete against the UK and European regional winners to make a final live pitch to the judging panelists at the global grand finals event in Sydney on Thursday, 18 August. Steve Wozniak will be present to provide direct feedback to the finalists and award the overall grand prize winners.

The global grand prize winner of each category will take away the ultimate prize – a one-on-one conversation with Steve Wozniak, and the trip of a lifetime to a cutting-edge technology conference and a bespoke tour of some of Silicon Valley’s leading tech companies.
