The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) is leading a trade mission to Shanghai in July this year, the first of its kind following successful missions to Hong Kong and New York.

AIMIAMission delegates will attend the 8th China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference, promisingly dubbed ‘ChinaJoy’; as well as take in the Shanghai World Expo. With 150,000 visitors and nearly 200 exhibitors annually, delegates can expect valuable networking and partnership opportunities with leaders of the digital industry in China.

The digital content industry is now worth over AUD$20 billion in Australia, according to estimates by the Centre for International Economics, and projections predict growth in the digital sector, even in a stagnant economy. China is an emerging market boasting fast growth (a reported 30% in 2008, according to China Commodity Marketplace). The AIMIA trade mission offers the opportunity to investigate this market with the support of Austrade.
