Small and medium business owners will be given the opportunity to voice their opinion to key decisions makers about issues affecting their business, with the launch of the SME Boardroom.
SME Boardroom is a membership of SME owner/operators who work together to provide key messages to decision makers such as government, media, advisors and the business community with the common goal to make a positive and real difference for SME owner/operators.
SME Boardroom chair Kim Mei-Li Dennis said the SME Boardroom is a “diverse, genuine group that focuses on solutions for for SMEs who are time-poor but feel passionate about issues such as tax reform, the compliance and regulatory burden, workplace relations and business growth.”
SME Boardroom is easy to join for time-poor small business people and membership is free. Members are invited to participate in a five-minute quarterly survey which will enable the SME Boardroom to collate information and become a united voice in representing the concerns faced by the collective small business community.
The Boardroom has the backing of the Shadow Treasurer of Australia and a well-known supporter of SMEs, the Hon Joe Hockey, MP.
“It is important that policy makers take note of the views of small business owners and operators to support them through this period of economic uncertainty and to create a platform for prosperity in the future,” he said.
