Scoopon Travel takes flight

Scoopon has boosted its presence in the travel and hospitality market by launching Scoopon Travel, a new dedicated site delivering deals on flights, accommodation and travel packages.

The site will also feature event based ticketing and accommodation packages to major events such as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, the Australian Open and Formula One GP – which Scoopon says is a group-buying first.

General Manager Jon Beros said the company has held discussions with a number of major businesses in the travel and hospitality industry to build the relationships needed to deliver the event and holiday packages.

“Major event packages represent a huge opportunity for us and our members. We can now offer a one-stop travel solution – everything from flights and accommodation to ticketing at an unbelievable price.”

“Having winning partnerships is crucial for success and ensures that we can offer the best deals from businesses we trust to deliver a fantastic experience to our members.”

As the tourism industry continues to struggle, operators have reported the positive impact group buying deals have had on boosting accommodation rates and attracting new customers.

Active Stays Mermaid Beach owner Tim Oberg said a recent Scoopon promotion provided the business with an opportunity to market itself during a stagnant tourism period, increasing occupancy rates.

“We were also able to report on an increase in bookings from those who spoke about our offer which attracted repeat business.”

To celebrate the launch of Scoopon Travel, Scoopon is offering a holiday deal to Fiji.
