Bookmarking service Pinterest has added a feature that allows users to share apps and even download them from within the service.
Pinterest announced that App Pins would allow users to top tap an “Install” button when they come across an app, which will download the app to the device without leaving Pinterest. Of course, users can also ‘Pin it.’
The app Pins can only be seen when using Pinterest on an iPhone or iPad, a move that Apple is certainly hoping will attract a new wave of users to their apps.
Apple is backing the move, creating a Pinterest App Store page that, as of now, groups apps into Fashion Apps, App Store at Fashion Week, People + Apps, Editor’s Choice, and Healthy Recipes.
Pinterest has over 70 million active users worldwide and around 355,000 active users in Australia.
