Job ads up 12.1 percent in February: ABS

Job figures out today from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicate the economy is well on the way to recovery with Job ads up 12.1 percent in February.

Job Ads February ABSThe ABS Job Vacancies, Australia, Feb 2010 statistics indicated that total job vacancies for February 2010 were up to 169,000 from 150,800 an increase of 12.1 percent from November 2009.

The number of job vacancies in the private sector rose to 152,200 in February 2010 up from 133,900 in November 2009, an increase of 13.7 percent.

In the public sector, the number of job vacancies fell 0.6 percent in February to 16,800, a decrease of 0.6 percent from November 2009.
