Queensland’s Franchisee of the Year has been announced, with the owners of Grill’d in Chermside taking the top spot.
The Franchisee Awards, part of the Franchise Council of Australia 2010 Excellence in Franchising Awards, recognised Elton and Cindy Berrange, owners of the Grill’d burger store in Chermise, for their hard work and achievement in Australia’s franchising sector.
The Award recognises the amount of passion and effort that goes into making a great burger, according to Elton Berrange.
“Receiving this award is such an honour for us and to be in the running for the national award is incredible. The Grill’d philosophy of making burgers fresh, tasty and healthy is one we’re passionate about and it’s one our whole team is passionate about,” Mr Berrange said.
“We’ll continue to serve our customers the best we can and always with a smile and we’ll keep making great tasting Grill’d burgers with love,” Mr Berrange added.
Earlier this month Grill’d also won the Australian Retailer of the Year Award in the ‘Restaurants, Cafés and Takeaway’ category in the 2010 Australian Retail Association (ARA) Australian Retail Awards. The award win coincides with new Grill’d restaurant openings in Darlinghurst (Sydney) and Bendigo (VIC) with another Grill’d restaurant due to open in Cairns (QLD) later this month.
Grill’d Chermside is now in the running for the national award to be presented at the gala dinner on Tuesday 12 October held as a finale to the 2010 National Franchise Convention.
