Gender gap addressed with Women on Boards lunch series

Women on Boards and Accenture Australia will host the ThinkWomen 2011 National Lunch Series, career workshops about gender in the workplace. This year’s program, ‘Get to grips with the gender gap’, will look at managing difficult issues around the gender gap in workplaces and boardrooms.

“Speakers and attendees will discuss why the gender gap is an issue for businesses, how to identify and manage conscious and unconscious bias in your own workplace and how to work and lead with diversity,” said Claire Braund, executive director of Women on Boards.

The hosts invite both women and men to attend.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with women who have succeeded in senior roles. They will be able to hear personal stories, engage with questions and be given advice and answers,” added Braund.

Speakers will include Dr Margaret Byrne, an internationally recognised expert in executive development, leadership and change management, and Cara Morton, managing director of Accenture’s Finance and Performance Management consulting business for Asia-Pacific.

Dates for the ThinkWomen 2011 National Lunch Series:

  • Perth: 10 August 2011 at The Parmelia Hilton
  • Brisbane: 16 August 2011 at The Hilton
  • Sydney: 18 August 2011 at The Ivy
