Australian travellers have voted seat comfort and Wi-Fi as their two most important air travel amenities, according to a Corporate Traveller poll.
A total of 282 people took part in the poll, which asked respondents for their most important in-flight item when travelling for business.
51 percent of travellers said seat comfort was most important, followed by Wi-Fi with 22 percent and food and beverage services grabbing 9 percent of votes. The least important amenities provided by airlines were on-board reading materials and comfort kits.
“Our business travellers have rated most highly the three items that are going to help them focus on their core tasks as soon as they land,” Corporate Traveller National Marketing Manager Chris Preston said.
According to Preston, the results indicate that corporate customers are predominately interested in getting from A to B quickly, comfortably and with amenities that help them get on with their tasks as soon as they touched down.
“If a business traveller arrives at their destination hungry, tired and sporting a stiff neck, are they really going to be in peak shape to perform? Businesses should consider the type of airfare their travelers are booking if these kinds of issues are affecting the overall value and outcome of staff travel. Buying the right type of airfare for each trip is an important strategy for organisations seeking maximum return on investment for their spend on business travel,” he added.
