$100k on the table for ‘World’s Best Intern’

One lucky top Aussie graduate stands to score a $100,000 employment package in what’s being called the “World’s Best Internship” by the start-up behind the offer.

Social ecommerce marketplace Alphatise is recruiting one outstanding university graduate – but the selection criteria is stringent. The Sydney-based company wants a tech-savvy intern with an international mindset, who understands the buyer-seller and social experience within the online retail space.

Potential candidates need to create a profile, upload a 60-second video and then leverage their social status to receive votes and win over the co-founders; Paul Pearson, Richard Frey and Ben Nowlan.

Alphatise works by having shoppers nominate what they would like to pay for an item, and creates ‘wishes’ on items they want to purchase. So far there are over 250 million products for shoppers to ‘wish’ for.

Co-founder Ben Nowlan says the winning candidate will work at Alphatise for 12 months and will be mentored to learn the essential skills required to be part of their business.

“We’re looking for someone that is keen to learn how our business will empower shoppers as well as bring some fresh, digitally-driven thinking to mix,” says Nowlan.

The successful applicant will receive $50,000 in salary, $50,000 in Alphatise shares, a brand new Nissan Juke, a laptop and a contract phone under the 12-month contract. More information is available here.
